Montecristo's 35th Anniversary Nicaragua is made at A.J. Fernandez's San Lotano factory in Ocotál, Nicaragua, to commemorate Montecristo's 85th anniversary. The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua will be introduced as a soft-pressed series of four sizes to honor the age-old tradition of soft-pressing cigars. Instead of having sharp angles and defined corners like today's box-pressed cigars, these soft-pressed cigars are not completely round, rounded cigars are packed tightly into their own dress boxes and then compacted by a hand press. As a result, the cigar has a squarish shape, which is common among Cuban cigars.
Montecristo's 35th Anniversary Nicaragua cigars are made from tobacco grown on A.J. Fernandez farms in Nicaragua. The cigars are rich but well balanced, as the Nicaraguan tobaccos used in this blend have been aged further to provide a rich, rounded flavor with little to no bite.
