La Palina Classic Gordo Cigars are a reincarnation of a very old classic cigar from the late 17th century. Samuel Paley used to make them, which he stopped doing after retiring but brought back with his grandchild. They have a rich core of aged Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers held together by an Ecuadorian binder. A chocolate brown Brazilian Habano wrapper neatly enfolds them. They are well-built, with medium body strength and desirable complexity. Spice, earth, and caramel flavors keep the palate busy as this classic cigar nears its end.
