La Palina's origins can be traced back to Chicago in 1896, when Ukrainian émigré Samuel Paley founded Congress Cigar Company and released his first blend, La Palina, named after his wife. Congress Cigar Co. rolled one million cigars per day at its peak, but the Great Depression doomed the factory, as it did so many others, and the company folded — lost to time if not for Samuel's grandson Bill Paley, who resurrected the La Palina name in 2010. Bill Paley revived La Palina as a "personal, signature luxury cigar," committed to the same excellence as his grandfather, and the brand custom-sources tobaccos and partners with renowned factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Miami, USA, for a range of distinctive, premium cigars.
The Blue Label cigar is hand-rolled in Honduras at the El Paraiso factory and features Honduran tobacco with a Habano wrapper, a Honduran binder, and Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers.
