Carl and Herman Upmann, German bankers, travelled to Cuba in 1844 with the explicit goal of creating a superior cigar to give as a special gift to their most important clients. H. Upmann has gone to great lengths to recreate their original blend, "The Banker," using a dark Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder from the Jalapa region, and aged Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. This exquisite offering is rich and robust with notes of coffee and spices, and boasts an earthy and toasty smoking experience.
