Product Description:

Nicholas Melillo, the Foundation's founder and master blender, is from Connecticut and owns a 50-acre tobacco farm there. Melillo desired a blend that highlighted this unique leaf, which led to the creation of The Tabernacle.

The Tabernacle cigars are made with fillers from Jamastrán, Honduras, and the Nicaraguan regions of Jalapa and Estel, and are wrapped in Connecticut Broadleaf and a Mexican San Andrés binder — another leaf that Melillo adores and an old variety that predates Cuban seed.

Foundation's The Tabernacle exhibits bands that bespeak the line's name, boasting a bold profile with balanced flavors of earth, meat, fruity sweetness, and subtle hints of coffee and chocolate. Haile Selassie, the 225th King of Abyssinia, is depicted in the artwork. Selassie's ancestors can be traced back to King Solomon, who constructed the temple that housed the Ark of the Covenant. The Tabernacle, like that ancient structure, houses Melillo's Connecticut leaf, which he considers "sacred."
