For over five generations, the Plasencia family has been growing tobacco and making cigars. Many popular bands, including Rocky Patel, Gurkha, and Romeo y Julieta, have used Plasencia tobacco or cigars. The Plasencias decided to create their own super premium line to showcase their exceptional skill in cigar making with a few premium offerings.
The third installment of a five-part series called Alma. Plasencia Alma Del Fuego is Plasencia's most profound Ometepe expression to date. Ometepe is a volcanic island in Lake Nicaragua where the ultra-rich soil produces distinctive and flavorful tobacco. The majority of the tobacco in Alma del Fuego is from Ometepe, but Plasencia has aged these sun-grown tobaccos for seven years—seven years longer than he has previously treated Ometepe leaf, bringing out the tobacco's true flavor profile. The wrapper is from Nicaragua's Jalapa region, and one of the two binders, as well as half of the filler, is from Ometepe. The tobacco used in the cigars is grown entirely by the Plasencia family in Nicaragua, and the cigars are expertly rolled and box-pressed. The body is medium-to-full.
