Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. follows in the footsteps of his father, who established a Cuban cigar factory in 1948 before moving to Miami. The E.P. Carrillo Pledge, handcrafted in the Dominican Republic at the Carrillos' factory, is the third cigar in the Perez-Carrillo series, joining La Historia and Encore, which are all inspired by the tobacco family's generational history. The Pledge is the most daring of the three, a full-bodied blend of Nicaraguan fillers and Ecuadorian binder wrapped in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, with zesty notes of spice and oak against a backdrop of cream for a smooth and sumptuous smoke.
