Aganorsa tobacco is well-known in the industry for its high quality and resemblance to the iconic Cuban flavor and aroma. Eduardo Fernández and his son, Max, founded Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua in 1998. Eduardo travelled to Cuba and assembled a team of former Cubatabaco agronomists with the goal of replicating the profile of Cuban cigars, creating the specific leaf now known as Aganorsa tobacco. Initially, Aganorsa supplied tobacco to Casa Fernández, but in 2018, Eduardo and Max incorporated the Aganorsa name into their cigar lines, rebranding Casa Fernández as Aganorsa Leaf.
In 2022, the La Validación series replaced Casa Fernández's original core line, with the same Corojo, Habano, Maduro, and Connecticut variations, but under the La Validación label. The name is derived from Aganorsa Leaf president Paul Palmer, who refers to his cigar approval process as "validating" rather than "testing." The Aganorsa Leaf La Validación Habano is a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper with fillers and binder from the prestigious Aganorsa farms. These cigars are bold, full-bodied, and enticing, with the signature spiciness associated with Nicaraguan tobaccos.
