Cohiba clearly intended the Nicaragua to be a stick with the kick and complexity of Nicaraguan puro, but with more balance and spiciness. Their solution is a Nicaraguan binder/filler blend paired with a Honduran Colorado oscuro wrapper grown in the Jamastran Valley, just across the border from Nicaragua. The end result is a medium-full smoke with flavors ranging from coffee, pepper, and leather to cedar and sweetness.
The N50 vitola comes in its own cork-stoppered glass tube as a "en Crystale." While a standard tubo (usually metal) is designed for travel and to breathe (at least a little), this airtight type is ideal for ageing a cigar without it absorbing flavor from the cedar or other cigars in your humidor.
