This potent stick combines earthy, nutty, cocoa, and spicy notes with a satisfying sweetness. The wrapper is a dark, oily Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper that conceals a Nicaraguan binder and filler. The cigar debuted in 2008 as a tribute to Mexico and its fine tobacco. The cigar is named after Zocalo, Mexico City's main square, which is now known as Plaza de la Constitution. The cigar retains its original blend, but the packaging and band have been redesigned to look like the Mexican flag. The CAO Zocalo Toro is made by hand in Nicaragua.
