The Flathead is a box-pressed cigar with a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and a core of Nicaraguan aged long filler tobaccos. The new line's inspiration is based on cigars, cars, and girls, with a retro "hot rod" theme in mind. The cigar box lids were made on the same machines as auto parts and painted with genuine engine paint, allowing them to be removed and hung as art. Furthermore, this is the first time CAO has created a 7 x 70 sized smoke as well as the industry's first box-pressed Lancero.
The blend strikes a balance between strength and flavor. The smaller ring gauges have more strength, while the larger ring gauges have a richer, more balanced flavor. The Flatheads are extremely well-crafted, from the dark and oily maduro wrapper to the solid feel and weight of each vitola. The cigar has a creamy mouthfeel with solid maduro flavors, spice, earth, leather, and a good amount of natural sweetness.
